Owed Pricing Explained: Is It Worth $49 a Year?
What Owed actually costs in 2026
There is one paid plan and a set of free tools around it. Checked against Owed’s checkout on October 21, 2026:
- Owed Pro, first week: $2 for 7 days of full access.
- Owed Pro, after that: $49 a year, billed once a year. It renews automatically until you cancel.
- Free, no account: the settlements directory, the unclaimed money links, the flight compensation checker, the glossary and the guides.
- Never charged: a percentage of any payout, or a fee per claim.
Some promotions show 1-, 3- or 6-month plans instead, with the first period discounted. Whatever you’re offered, the full price and the renewal price are shown before you pay.
The renewal to put in your calendar
The $2 week turns into a $49 yearly charge on day 8 unless you cancel. That’s how most introductory offers work, and it’s the line people miss. If you’re trying Owed to see whether it fits, put a reminder on day 6. Cancelling takes a few taps: Profile, then Cancel plan.
If you forget, you’re still covered. Owed’s Terms include a 14-day money-back guarantee: email support@claimowedmoney.com within 14 days of a charge and that charge is refunded in full.
What the $49 actually buys
Be clear about what you’re paying for. Owed Pro does not get you access to anything you couldn’t reach yourself, and it doesn’t change how much any settlement pays. Every claim is filed on the administrator’s official form, and every claimant is paid by the same rules.
What you pay for is the work around the claim: a list of settlements matched to the companies you’ve used, plain-English instructions for each one, reminders before deadlines, and one place that remembers what you filed and where it stands. If you would never have found or remembered those claims on your own, that’s where the value is.
Is Owed worth $49 a year?
The honest break-even is easy to state. The first year costs $51 ($2 plus $49). If the claims you submit pay more than that, the membership has paid for itself. Say you file four claims in a year and they pay $25 each: that’s $100 in payouts against $51 in fees. If they pay $8 each, it isn’t.
The harder question is whether you would have filed those claims anyway. If you already read settlement notices, keep a list of deadlines and enjoy doing it, Owed mostly saves you time. If you’re the kind of person who hears about a settlement a week after it closed, the reminders are the product.
Payouts vary a lot and are set by courts and administrators. Many are pro rata, which means each person’s share shrinks as more valid claims come in. Treat any payout estimate as a range, not a promise.
The annual payout guarantee, in plain English
On an annual Owed Pro plan, if the payouts from the claims you submitted through Owed in a membership year add up to less than the fees you paid that year, Owed refunds the difference. The conditions, from Owed’s Terms:
- You submitted at least 10 valid claims through Owed during that year.
- At least 12 months have passed since your first payment for that year, and every claim has passed its payout date.
- You ask within 30 days of your last claim’s payout date, with your administrator notices or payment records.
- The refund is capped at what you paid for that year and is available once per membership year.
Because of the 10-claim condition, it protects active members, not someone who files one or two claims. If that’s you, the 14-day money-back guarantee is the one that matters.
When Owed isn’t worth it
- You want one claim you already know about. Go to the settlement’s official site and file it there. It’s free and takes minutes.
- You’re organised and enjoy the hunt. Free settlement lists plus a calendar will do most of what Owed does.
- You need an app-store app. Owed runs in your browser; there’s no App Store or Google Play app yet.
- You don’t want to share details with any third party. Filing directly means only the administrator sees your information.
For everything else, the full picture is in our Owed review, and our alternatives page shows what other settlement apps charge.

Took me under a minute. Three weeks later I had two checks in the mail from companies I didn't even remember using.

The deadline reminders alone are worth it. I would have missed the TikTok settlement completely.

No receipts, no forms, no legal words. It just tells you what you might be owed and walks you straight to the official form.
Shared with Owed
I was skeptical. Then $42 hit my account from a settlement I'd never heard of. Now I check the app every week.

My dad thought it was a scam until his check showed up. Now he's the one sending me settlements.

The 'proof required' tags are so useful. I only bother with the ones I can actually finish.

Common questions about pricing
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Cancel from your profile in the app (Profile → Cancel plan). If you cancel during the $2 first week you won’t be charged the $49. If you cancel later, you keep Pro until the end of the year you’ve paid for.
Is there a free trial?
Not a free one. The first week of Owed Pro costs $2, then it renews at $49 a year unless you cancel. The settlement directory, unclaimed money links and flight checker are free without an account. See what’s actually free.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. Owed’s Terms include a 14-day money-back guarantee: email support@claimowedmoney.com within 14 days of a charge and that charge is refunded in full. On an annual plan there’s also a payout guarantee if your payouts from 10 or more valid claims come in below what you paid — see Owed’s Terms for the conditions.
Is there a monthly plan?
The standard offer is the $2 first week, then $49 a year. Some promotions offer 1-, 3- or 6-month plans instead, with the first period discounted. Whatever you’re offered, the price is shown before you pay.
What payment methods can I use?
Payments go through Stripe, so major credit and debit cards work, and Apple Pay or Google Pay where your device supports them. Owed doesn’t store full card numbers.
Does Owed take a percentage of my settlement?
No — never. You file on the official form and the administrator pays you directly. Owed’s only charge to you is the flat membership.
